How it all goes down

Details

I am a boutique photographer specializing in family documentary photography. This means that I’m different than most photographers you’ll come across, and that is a good thing!

While I’m happy to take the occasional posed shot of your family all together, what I focus on is telling your story. Your real story. The intricacies and intimacies of your life. The stuff you want to remember in your day-to-day.

I will spend up to a full day in your home while you go through your day with your kids, your spouse, and your animals. I want to see laundry, dishes, messes, tickles, naps, kids in the bath, tantrums, piles of laughing little ones and all the love and tears that comes with it! I will truly capture your life the way it is, and when we’re done, you will have an album that tells the story of your family, and beautiful, commissioned, one-of-a-kind artwork up on your walls for all of posterity to cherish forever. I want your great grandchildren to see what life back in the 2020s was like, and know in detail the legacy that led to them.

Planning your session

About a week or so before your day, we get together for a planning session, and this is where we get to know each other a bit, your kids get used to me, and you tell me what you’re looking for or what you need me to help you plan for your artwork. If your heart is set on a vertical 40x30 of the whole family in one of the cuddly moments of your day, I want this knowledge tucked away so I can bring that to life for you and make sure to take photos in the right orientation when those moments happen.

If you aren’t totally sure what you want for artwork, I’ll brainstorm with you and I’ll tell you what space you have that we could fill with multiple pieces or big pieces, or where framed photos might look better than canvas or metal, or vice versa.

The End Result

Once your artwork comes in, I bring it back to your home and install it for you, so that you don’t have to worry about a thing. Too often when artwork is purchased, it sits around for too long or doesn’t ever go up on the walls where it belongs. I’ve been guilty of this in my own home, so in my business I have realized that the best way to serve my clients is to deliver the full service experience, and only finish when the art is up and there is nothing left to do but invite people over to see your new museum-quality, custom artwork.

Investment

My creation fee begins at $195 for an “Expressions” session, or a short (one activity in your home) documentary session, and this includes the experience: the session, and the time and talent of the photographer. For a higher price point, I also offer half-day and full-day sessions, and birth/coming home stories that may be documented over multiple days. You will purchase your custom, museum-quality artwork and albums separately, and it will be made in the professional photo labs that I partner with.

I believe it is a disservice to deliver digital files and then leave everything in my clients’ hands. I have already done all the work to make sure you will receive the highest quality pieces that will last for generations, and it is important to me that your experience is full-service, from start to finish.

Any photo you purchase in print will also be delivered in a media-size digital file for use on social media, so you will be able to use the photos you purchase as profile and cover photos.

Creation fee is due at time of booking.
